DIY Vintage Book Pumpkins
Make Fall pumpkins out of ordinary books or vintage books.....OH YES YOU CAN!!! HERE'S HOW TO DO IT!
Start by finding a book that you don't use or want. It doesn't matter what it looks like because you are going to take the cover off and only use the inside pages of the book.
Cut off right top pages of book to form shape of pumpkin.
Note: you will only be able to cut several pages at a time with scissors. Then do the same thing to the bottom right side pages of book doing several pages at a time. Keep this up until all pages have been cut and you have the shape of a pumpkin.
When you have completed cutting each side of the book, your book pages will look like this. (see image above).
Next, it's time to get your glue gun out! You will hot glue the spine together. Put a good amount of glue on the spine of the book and then you are going to open up the spine and hold it together until it is glued shut. It may take a few minutes for this to happen, especially if you have a thicker book. Be patient. You may even have to apply a little more glue. Take your time with this step.
Once you have the spine glued shut, you can then stand your book up. I like to take a piece of twine rope and tie it up underneath the spine and bring it through up and around the pumpkin and tie a ribbon up on top. It just gives it another element of fun! You can use any type of ribbons you like!
